Get behind a great cause !!!

The following message comes from BMX NZ Admin :-

Troy Martin is a BMX racer from the Papakura BMX club. He races in the 9 year boys age group. Troy has been racing for quite some time - since he was about 4.

Troy has a heart condition - called a "conductive heart condition". This means that his heart "races like a rocket" and he needs medication every day. We're really pleased that Troy doesn't let this get in the way of his BMX racing, and BMX must help keep him fit and healthy.

Troy and his family are involved with Heart Children NZ, which is the official sponsor of the 2006 Wattyl Lake Taupo Challenge. This is the 160km round Taupo ride on 25 November. Troy has been selected to be one of 30 heart kids to complete the last 5kms of the ride, and he will be doing that with his mum Dianne.

If you would like to find out more about Troy's involvement with Heart Kids NZ, and the Lake Taupo Challenge have a look at his website. We think this is a good cause to support, so if you'd like to sponsor Troy, then you'll find the details on his website. Funds Troy raises will help support Heart Kids New Zealand.

Hi, Ben Wooliscroft the new president of Cycling Otago. I'd like to investigate running closed road races with a BMX class this coming summer. Could we catch up for a talk?
